This kit includes a trainer’s guide and four modules:
Raising awareness about the connection between poverty and gender, and the role of small projects in development.
National planning for development of small projects for women: from needs assessment to accessing micro-credit programs.
Designing and managing small projects by women.
Networking and voluntary services to access information and professional help about small projects.
Ideas for Working with Arab Adolescent Girls and Boys
The training kit is a blend of reference materials and training methods. It is intended for use by intermediaries who work closely with adolescent girls and boys, such as trainers, specialized NGOs, and teachers. While it targets the training of trainers, some parts of the Kit include materials for adolescents training.
The training materials offered in this kit are taken from CAWTAR's second AWDR, The Arab Adolescent Girl: Reality and Prospects. It is mainly for use by specialized trainers and peer-educators working with adolescents’ issues in the Arab region.
The training materials are adaptable to suit the needs of national countries and trainees
The training Kit consists of the following materials:
The main text, which consists of exercises on the six main topics of the second AWDR: self-image, family, school, puberty and reproductive health, labor, and values. Each chapter includes guidelines for the trainer and supporting materials.
Set of drawings prepared by Arab adolescents along with questions and notes to be used as training materials.
Tables and charts.
Cine-Club, which is a synopsis for discussion of 9 films and documentaries related to Arab adolescents.
Audiovisual material, which consists of a montage of testimonies of adolescents in Lebanon and Morocco.
Power Point Presentations covering the topics of CAWTAR's Second AWDR, Adolescent Girl: Reality and Prospects.
E-Learning Training Course on Adolescence
The on-line course on adolescence is an opportunity for interested actors in this subject to enroll in distance learning and to acquire practical experience on issues concerning adolescents. The course is open to trainers, researchers, and the youth and adolescents. The Center is currently working at different preparatory stages for the course to be accessible.
