In partnership with UNFPA regional office, CAWTAR organized June 7, 2012 a roundtable to promote the process of follow up of the ICPD program of Action.
after 20 years of ICPD (Cairo 1994), a global review is planned for 2014, and this require the mobilization of the civil society to advocate and to play a role in the follow up of the PoA; towards achieving this objective, a regional coalition is being created by CAWTAR to also contribute in the process of follow up on Beijing Platform of Action, the MDGs and other major process related to gender equality and women reproductive and sexual rights.
The round table held in Casablanca involved 30 participants, Judges, Lawyers and activists from Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia and Mauritania; it was also an opportunity to start the identification of national partners able to be part of the regional coalition.
